Based on 148 reviewsJames Foo Western Food USJ Taipan is widely appreciated for its cozy, clean ambiance and suitability for group dining. Patrons often highlight the reasonable pricing and generous portion sizes as key strengths. Signature dishes such as the chicken chop and fish and chips receive consistent praise for their flavor and texture, while the brown sauce and creamy carbonara are noted favorites. However, some feedback points to areas for improvement, including the mashed potatoes and coleslaw, which have been described as lacking in flavor. Service quality and friendly staff also contribute positively to the overall dining experience. Minor concerns about recent price adjustments and parking availability have been mentioned but do not overshadow the generally favorable reception.
The restaurant is clean, spacious and cozy. Good for friend and family gatherings. The food here is basic western food. Price is reasonable. The brown sauce here is pretty good and similar to the one the shop has many years ago. The pork chop is a bit dry, chicken chop is good. The mashed potatoes is probably the item that needs to improve cos it tastes pretty bland without much real potato taste. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Hope they continue to do well. Best wishes!!! ⭐
James Foo Western Food is a restaurant sells western food located at Taipan USJ 10. The food are delicious and mouth-watering. The signature chicken chop is crispy and tender with a side dish choice of one: mashed potato or French Fries or coleslaw. The price is normal around RM20 and up to RM 50 and drinks is around RM10 for the ice blended. Good luck finding car park. Overall, it is fine. LRT station: Taipan
OMG the food here is SO good! I’m obsessed with their fish and chips—especially the tartar sauce, it’s *chef’s kiss*! Prices are totally fair, and the staff is super nice. 10/10 would stuff my face here again!
Carbonara is great, creamy, flavourful. Chicken chop is juicy. Fries is good. Everything is good but not the chilli sauce tho. Taste weird, not to my liking tho. Overall is great actually.
Big portion delicious food, affordable price, and excellent service!! Humble boss. A franchise from food heaven Penang. 11/9/25 update: the tartar sauce costs RM2.50 now, it used to be free. I add on a big sausage which costs RM13 but still got charged for their tartar sauce. Feel that I'd stop patronising this restaurant already after so many visits... Besides, their coleslaw taste awful, this is my first try and last.
